Exploring the body – it is all about Fascia<\/b><\/h3>

\u00a0<\/h3>

Fascia is a sheet-like network of connective tissue that\u00a0wraps around, separates, and supports everything\u00a0in our bodies – muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, organs, and even individual cells. Think of it as continuous, flexible inner skeleton that\u00a0helps hold structures\u00a0together\u00a0while still allowing them to move independently. Furthermore,\u00a0<\/span>our energy pathways (meridians, qi-channels) flow through this water-rich network.<\/span><\/h3>

\u00a0<\/h3>

In Tai Chi Chuan we allow our energy to flow smoothly throughout the body through the movements of the vorm. Each movement is directed by our breath, breath is Qi. The physical\u00a0impuls of the movement does not originate from the bones, muscles or joints, but rather from our fascia. The suppleness and elasticity comes from hydrated, fluid-rich fascia.<\/h3>

\u00a0<\/h3>

Moreover, fascia contains a rich network of sensory nerve endings that continuously send information to the central nervous system. These signals are a vital part of both interoception (the internal sense of the body) and proprioception (the sense of position and movemement of our body).<\/h3>

\u00a0<\/h3>

While this may sounds theoretical, Tai Chi Chuan is fundamentally about interception and proprioception. In this workshop, we use these ’tools’ to feel the movements on both a physical and subtle level. Our goal is to actually feel and become aware of houw the fascia moves us.\u00a0<\/h3>
